There’s a lot going on right now: personally, locally, and globally.  Given all that, and today is Thanksgiving in the States, I took a little time to list some of the things for which I’m very grateful.

My writing challenge for you today is the same: list ten things you’re thankful for.

Alternatively, list ten things your main character is thankful for, then do the same for your antagonist.  Compare the two and see what comes of it.

My Thankfulness List

I am thankful for my family.  We might not agree, but we love each other.

I am thankful for my friends.  We’re all so different, but we share compassion for one another.

I am thankful for my job.  I have a place to earn a living and be respected by my co-workers.

I am thankful for my education.  Time spent learning and expanding experiences is time well spent indeed.

I am thankful for a roof over my head.  I can never forget how fortunate I am to have clean, warm shelter.

I am thankful for clean water.  In too much of the world, clean water is scarce and I am grateful to have it on tap.

I am thankful for my cats.  They may be needy beggars, but they love unconditionally.

I am thankful for travel.  The world is so big, and I am happy to have seen more than just my little corner of it.

I am thankful for the internet.  My friends and family are here, there, and everywhere; the internet keeps us close.

I am thankful to have people who care about me.  They put up with me even when I’m being less than gracious or kind.
